Bad Debt Consolidation

By undertaking a bankruptcy search, a company can discover whether a person or a company has sought or is about to seek protection under Chapter 11. This knowledge will help you make judicious decisions while:

  • Hiring an employee for a critical position
  • Hiring the services of a company
  • Issuing a loan/debt to a person

How to Conduct Bankruptcy Search

You can conduct a bankruptcy search via:

  • Online: The easiest and fastest way to conduct a bankruptcy search on records is by visiting the government website on bankruptcy. In the UK, the Insolvency Service website at insolvency.gov.uk provides the requisite information. You can conduct the database search with just the surname of an individual living in England and Wales. In the US, use BankruptcyData.com to get instant access to bankruptcy filings related to businesses. You can also visit the court website for your state to find the information. You can find your state’s court website at bankruptcydata.com/CourtDirectoryIndex.asp.
  • Phone: You can call the bankruptcy court’s automated VCIS number and initiate a search by providing a case number, name or social security number (SSN). The automated system will read the entire information related to the case. You can find the VCIS number by visiting the spiesonline.net/vcis.shtml site. This service is free of cost.
  • PACER Service Center: This is the Federal Judiciary’s centralized registration, billing and technical support center, which helps you access bankruptcy records. You can use this service to get more information than what is provided by the voice system. To use this chargeable service, you need to have a PACER account.

Information Provided by Bankruptcy Search
